Li Chunlei, male, was born in Cheng'an County, Hebei Province in February 1968. He is a National First-Class Writer. He graduated from the Department of English at Handan College and the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Hebei University. His major works include the essay collection That Year, I Was Eighteen, as well as full-length reportage works such as How Steel Was Tempered, Baoshan, Wheeling into Peking University, and When the Kapok Blooms. He has been awarded the Lu Xun Literary Award, the National Five "One" Project Award, and the Xu Chi Reportage Award (for three consecutive terms), among other honors. Currently, he serves as Vice President of the China Reportage Association, Vice Chairman of the Hebei Writers Association, and a Lifetime Professor at Handan College.
